Gold Medal, Best Digital Design
I won the Gold Medal for Best Digital Design at the 2026 Digital Publishing Awards for designing this interactive Radio-Canada Information report on the impacts of oil exploration on marine life.
A meaningful recognition
Receiving this Gold Medal from the Digital Publishing Awards represents important recognition of the value of digital design in journalism. Beyond the visual aspect, this project demonstrates how interactive design can help tell complex stories, make scientific issues accessible, and create a more memorable experience for the audience.
I warmly thank the Digital Publishing Awards and the entire team who contributed to making this project happen.
This achievement is the result of a collaboration with a talented team:
- Laurianne Croteau — data journalist
- Sara Barrière-Brunet — editor-in-chief
- Émilie Robert — illustrator
- Andre Guimaraes — developer

A dive into the ocean depths
The project explores the impacts of oil exploration off the coast of Newfoundland on marine biodiversity. Through an immersive narrative experience, the report sheds light on the consequences of seismic noise, light pollution, maritime traffic, and drilling activities on dozens of species living at different depths of the ocean.
To translate these complex issues into an accessible experience, I designed an interface that guides the reader in a progressive descent toward the ocean’s depths. As users scroll, species appear according to their natural habitat, revealing how human activities affect the entire oceanic ecosystem.
